Catholic Eucharistic Dogma

What is dogma?  A divinely revealed truth, proclaimed as such by the infallible teaching authority of the Church, and hence binding on all the faithful without exception, now and forever. [The Survival of Dogma, 153].

  • The Body and Blood of Jesus Christ are truly, really and substantially present in the Eucharist.
  • The Body and the Blood of Christ together with His Soul and His Divinity and therefore the Whole Christ are truly present in the Eucharist.
  • When either consecrated species is divided the Whole Christ is present in each part of the species.
  • After the Consecration has been completed the Body and Blood are permanently present in the Eucharist.
(Source: Traditional Catholic Priest)

If any one denieth, that, in the venerable sacrament of the Eucharist, the whole Christ is contained under each species, and under every part of each species, when separated; let him be anathema.~ Council of Trent, Session XIII, Canon III
