The Goodwill Principle
There is a great need for Catholic men to restore their goodwill towards God. Goodwill cannot be only be based on good intentions and feelings, it needs to be shown by our actions. Reverence and adoration are worthy acts to the Real Presence of Christ, however more is needed. There is one critical act that is missing in the Novus Ordo church; it is the act of care for the Eucharist during Holy Communion. We receive the Eucharist in the hand, just as we would receive ordinary bread. In both cases bread particles break-off in the hand and fall to the floor. However the Eucharist is no longer bread, but Christ falling to the floor and is trampled on, just as bread crumbs would fall on the floor and is trampled on. Hence the care that we need to give to the Eucharist, must be different from that of receiving ordinary bread. Our care for the wellbeing of the Body of Christ must be restored. Without care for Our Lord, our goodwill towards God is lost.
Through the grace of God, men of goodwill, will act in charity in the truth of God. They will discover the truth, and they will not receive Holy Communion, where the Body of Christ is allowed to be trampled on. These men of goodwill, will recognise that tradition is where they can receive Our Lord worthily, and restore their goodwill to God.
"Glory to God in the highest; and on earth peace to men of good will." ~ Luke 2:14
A Test of Goodwill
Many will say that receiving Holy Communion on the hand is lawful, and it is. However is it truly of goodwill to receive Holy Communion on the hand? No faithful Catholic will dispute that Eucharistic particles break-off on the hand, which then falls to the ground and is trampled on. This is Christ being trampled on. Yet the majority of Catholics will choose to ignore this because it will upset how they choose to worship. The manner of worshiping God, has taken precedence over God Himself.
Many say it is lawful, but is it really the fulfilment of the law, is it of goodwill? The expression "walk all over" someone, means having lack of respect and goodwill for someone. In this case, it is physically walking all over Christ!
"Love does no harm to a neighbour. Therefore love is the fulfilment of the law." ~ Romans 13:10
Christ teaches us, "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself," but who is Christ to us, a neighbour? If it is not ok to trample on your neighbour, why should it be ok to trample on Christ, who is so much more?
We must ask ourselves, are we truly men of goodwill towards God?
A Test of Principle
Having principles means steadfastly adhering to one's rules or beliefs. As Catholic men we need to be faithful, to act accordingly to our faith. This can mean even dying for what we believe in. This is the reason why we have many Saints who are martyrs. Being forced to stand by our faith and principles tend to occur during times of great conflicts against the faith, and from time to time, we are forced to stand by our faith and principles we believe in.
A principled man also knows that his faith and principles are challenged everyday, even without any external force placed upon him. It is the challenge of upholding the seemingly minuscule truth, that many see as being unimportant, something that can be overlooked. No one is forcing him to stand by the principles he believes in, no one cares about it; let alone expect him to defend a seemingly minuscule truth. The onus is solely on himself, his faith and principles. Ultimately, he knows he does it for God.
If someone forced you under the threat of harm, would you trample on the crucifix? A principled man would not do it.
This begs the question: why would any principled man, voluntarily go to a Novus Ordo church and trample (unavoidably), not on a crucifix, but on Our Lord Himself?
A principled man knowing the truth would not do this, he would take the necessary actions to avoid this, and seek out Traditional Latin Mass churches, where he can receive God worthily.
"Hope has two beautiful daughters; their names are Anger and Courage. Anger at the way things are, and Courage to see that they do not remain as they are." ~ St. Augustine
“Moral issues are always terribly complex for someone without principles. ” ~ Gilbert K. Chesterton.
"Moral character is assessed not by what a man knows but by what he loves." ~ St. Augustine
"Strength of character is certainly needed to face life in the world and to stand by right principles, especially in the age in which we live. ~ St. Rose Philippine Duchesne
"If you do not live what you believe, you will end up believing what you live." ~ Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen
"Grant me, O Lord my God, a mind to know you, a heart to seek you, wisdom to find you, conduct pleasing to you, faithful perseverance in waiting for you, and a hope of finally embracing you. Amen," ~ St. Thomas Aquinas
"My little children, let us not love in word, nor in tongue, but in deed, and in truth." ~ 1 John 3:18
"Do not be deceived: Bad company ruins good morals." ~ 1 Corinthians 15:33
"Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong." ~ 1 Corinthians 16:13
The Men of Goodwill
Man has free will to do whatever he wants. For the man of goodwill, he knows it must be firstly and above all else, be directed to God. He also knows that the greatest act of goodwill is to do the will of God.
We all may have goodwill in general, but this is what it means to have goodwill for God. One might say this is asking a lot, yet we should always remember what Christ did for us, for our salvation, and even today, His unweaving goodwill is still with us in the Eucharist.
"If you love me, keep my commands." ~ John 14:15
"You are my friends if you do what I command." ~ John 15:14
"He answering, said: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind: and thy neighbour as thyself." ~ Luke 10:27
"That all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him." ~ John 5:23
"God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” ~ John 4:24
In doing God's will, we must have good intentions, along with good actions for God, this ensures our goodwill and friendship with God. When we worship God, we show our reverence to Him, we adore Him, however we must also be considerate to God; to care for the wellbeing of the Body of Christ. We must not allow our actions to harm the Real Presence of Christ, which will in turn harm our goodwill and friendship with God. When we do this, we give glory to God.
Saying we have goodwill is easy, but what does it take to have goodwill turn into action? When a man has principles, he compels himself to remain faithful to his goodwill. He will not surrender his goodwill the moment his situation becomes inconvenient or difficult. Remember how much Christ had to go through to hold true to His own principle of truth as the Son of God, so that we could receive His goodwill.
How is a man of goodwill live his life for God? It is certainly not to abuse Our Lord, by trampling on Him, or by denying the Eucharistic particles on the floor is Christ. He holds true to his goodwill principle, he takes action in truth.
"In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the LORD. And Abel also brought an offering fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering, but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast. Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it." ~ Genesis 4:3-7
"I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." ~ Romans 12:1-2
"Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross." ~ Philippians 2:5-8
The Charity in Truth
Goodwill without principle, is not goodwill at all, it does not care, it does no charity, it results in the trampling on of Our Lord, and God.
When a man acts with care for Christ's wellbeing, his acts in truth, in charity for the Body of Christ. Let us be men of goodwill and principle, who sees the truth and acts accordingly, no matter how seemingly minuscule the truth is - the Body of Christ on the floor.
The need to make reparations
To the man of goodwill principle, when he recognises that his has damaged his goodwill with God. He will take actions to remedy it. He will seek a solution to stop the damage and make reparations.
This may be in the form of Confession, penance, prayers and sacrifices to restore his goodwill with God.
Restore the Sacred - Restore the Order
How can we expect of be of goodwill, when we ignore Our Lord is being trampled on? How can we expect peace and order in the Church and in the world, when the most Sacred is treated with such disorder?
We want order in the world, yet we won't end the desecration of Our Lord. Everything must be ordered around Christ, Christ is the first order. Trampling on Christ, only proves that we (dis)order Christ at the level beneath our feet. We may think to ourselves this is impossible. No, this is the reality. A man of goodwill principle will recognise this disorder, he must take action to stop this and truly order himself to Christ.
To the Future
We have our Catholic faith, we believe in its truth, and to the man of goodwill principle, he will live up to his responsibility to end the abuse on the Body of Christ.
"So faith also, if it have not works, is dead in itself." ~ James 2:17
The only way of upholding goodwill to God is tradition. The man of goodwill principle will do what is right and just, he will stand by his principles to maintain his goodwill with God. He does not go to a Novus Ordo church for Mass to offer up his sacrifices, yet then trample on God. He will instead go to a Traditional Latin Mass church to worthily offer up his sacrifice.
"To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice." ~ Proverbs 21:3
This may "seem" to be a huge undertaking, but once committed, it will become more easier, and worthy of God's goodwill. Doing the right thing by Our Lord, this the only thing worth doing. At a certain point in time, every Catholic man of goodwill principle, who is still attending the Novus Ordo Mass, will accept the truth, and let go all of his attachments to the Novus Ordo church, to say:
"Out of goodwill and principle, I can not longer attend the Novus Ordo church."
"I do not care very much what men say of me, provided that God approves of me." ~ St. Thomas more.
This decision may come straight-away for the goodwill principled man, or it could take weeks, months, even years... If you are blessed to see clearly the need to return to tradition, please visit the following site for simple steps to make the transition at - EucharisticTurth.org
